JustJoin vs Heylo

JustJoin vs Heylo,
booking layer or community platform?

Heylo is a community platform: profiles, chat, a member directory, and events on top. JustJoin is the booking step and nothing else. Here's the honest breakdown — including when Heylo is the better choice.

The honest version

No tool wins for every host. Here's when each is the right call.

Stay on Heylo if…

  • You want a community platform — member profiles, group chat and a directory in one place
  • You want your members talking to each other between sessions, inside the tool
  • You're happy to move your group onto a new platform and have them set up profiles
  • You're US-based and want a product whose published customer stories are US clubs
  • You'd pay a monthly subscription to bring the per-transaction rate down

Switch to JustJoin if…

  • Your community already lives in WhatsApp, Instagram or your email list, and you're not moving it
  • You want attendees to join with a name and an email — no profile, no directory, no new social graph
  • You'd rather pay a flat 3% than 5% + $0.59, without climbing a subscription ladder to get a better rate
  • You're in the EU and want euro pricing, an EU operator and Stripe payouts to your own account
  • You'd rather JustJoin send the confirmations, reminders and updates than keep an attendee mailing list yourself

Heylo figures are from heylo.com's own pricing and FAQ pages, checked August 2026: a real free tier at 5% + $0.59 per transaction, then Plus $19/mo (4% + $0.49), Pro $59/mo (2% + $0.29) and Business $199/mo, with the free tier capped at 500 emails per month and $0.005 per email after that. Heylo's help article (updated 13 Feb 2026) states every plan pays Stripe's processing fees on top, listed there as 2.9% + $0.30. JustJoin: no monthly fee, flat 3% platform fee on paid bookings, Stripe processing on top, free sessions free. Prices change — check both pages before you decide.

Frequently asked questions

If what you actually want is a community — profiles, a member directory, a group chat, people finding each other between sessions — then yes, use Heylo. That is a real product category and JustJoin deliberately isn't in it. Pick JustJoin when the community already exists somewhere else and the only broken step is booking.

On the no-subscription tier, yes. Heylo's free tier charges 5% + $0.59 per transaction, and per Heylo's own help article (updated 13 Feb 2026) Stripe's processing — 2.9% + $0.30 — comes on top of every plan. JustJoin charges a flat 3% with Stripe's processing on top and no monthly fee. On a €20 session that is roughly €2.47 all-in on Heylo against roughly €1.15 all-in on JustJoin. Heylo's paid plans buy a lower platform rate — 4% at $19/mo, 2% at $59/mo — so at high volume their arithmetic improves; do the sums on your own numbers. Ours is on the pricing page.

Neither tool needs an app download — Heylo says so themselves, and JustJoin runs in a browser too. The difference is what happens after the tap: Heylo is built around members joining the group with a profile that lives in a directory and a chat. On JustJoin an attendee types a name and an email and is booked, with a personal manage link by email. Nothing to set up, nothing to maintain, nothing to abandon.

Moving to JustJoin is the small direction: you create your club, add your sessions and swap the link in your bio. There is no member import, because JustJoin has nothing to import members into — attendees just book. Going the other way is the bigger move, because a community platform only works once your people are actually inside it.

Because your group already has them. Almost every host we built this for runs their conversation in WhatsApp, Instagram or an email list, and a second social space mostly means a second place to go quiet. JustJoin does the one step those channels can't do — turning interest into a booked spot — and stays out of the rest.

Yes, and they cost nothing, with no cap on attendees and no Stripe account needed. The 3% only exists on money you actually collect.

Keep your community where it is.

Set up your club, add a session, share one link. Your people don't have to join anything new.
